The Llanidloes Resource Centre (LRC) provides a diversity of serviced office facilities for the local community, including voluntary sector organizations, social economy enterprises and the general public. LRC also houses a variety of specialized libraries, including LLES's own and those of Careers Wales and the local organic growers' network; provides diverse training, consultancy and specialized ICT support; web-site design; designs and prints newsletters, posters, flyers, etc. In fact LRC provides far too many facilities to list or advertise. A major focus is to support more specialized organizations such as LLES, ROMCUL and the Community Forum.

Raise awareness of sustainable and renewable energy issues, opportunities and innovations amongst National Assembly Members and staff, and to all Welsh sectors.
Assist the development of a Sustainable Energy Policy and Strategy for Wales through the National Assembly.
Maximise the potential for sustainable energy in Wales, in terms of jobs, greenhouse gas abatement, and putting Wales at the forefront of the world sustainable energy industry.
Llanidloes Chamber of Trade and Industry is a strong voice for its members, working as a group to boost the profile of Llanidloes and local businesses. To do this they need as much support from local traders as possible. They have regular meetings at which all local traders and businesses will be welcomed very warmly.

The Centre for Alternative Technology is based nearby in Machynlleth. It offers solutions to some of the most serious challenges facing our planet and the human race, such as climate change, pollution and the waste of precious resources. It demonstrates practical ways of addressing these problems and, leading by example, aims to show that living more sustainably is not only easy to attain but can provide a better quality of life.
The Great Oak Bookshop, independently owned, is situated in the centre of the lively Mid Wales market town of Llanidloes. They stock a range of new, second-hand and out-of-print books, specialising in local books and maps, books on green and ethical issues, children’s books and craft books. Many of their greeting cards, calendars and wrapping paper are Fair Trade, and they have also sourced a range of eco-friendly greeting cards – using alcohol-free printing techniques, vegetable based inks, compostable packaging, recycled envelopes are Forest Stewardship Council certified and printed in the UK.
As a business they are developing a green policy and have so far changed their energy supplier to Good Energy, use eco-paints, low-energy light bulbs and recycled office stationary and paper bags to reduce their carbon foot print.
Robert Owen Montgomeryshire Credit Union Limited (ROMCUL), the local savings and loans co-operative, helping to develop a more sustainable local economy. ROMCUL can provide its members with loans to implement energy-saving measures.
LlaniSolar specialises in solar water heating systems, but also provides consultancy in more general energy-related matters.
